Over the past 10 years, Dave has developed multi-family, residential and commercial projects. He has designed, built and marketed more than 1,900 residential homes totaling over 3.1 million square feet in addition to retail shopping space in excess of 550,000 square feet.

A Griffin, GA native, Dave studied business and music at the University of Georgia. In 1998 he founded his own construction company, Mulkey Construction, and four years later partnered with Tom Scott to create The Dovetail Companies, an award-winning, Athens, GA-based development company. Dave’s expertise and leadership have led The Dovetail Companies to the forefront of the industry.

In addition to his work with Dovetail, Dave is a founding shareholder of Allied Paving, Inc. of Athens, GA. He has held leadership positions in several community organizations including the Board of Directors of the Athens Area Homebuilders Association and the Board of Trustees of St. James United Methodist Church. He and his wife Jennifer have four children: Jackson, Sean, Andrew and Lane.
